Position Overview
Rockport Commercial Inc. is seeking a dedicated, year-round Construction Labourer to join our team in Winnipeg. This role is fundamental to the success of our multi-family residential projects. You will be responsible for maintaining a productive, safe, and organized job site while supporting our skilled trades and site supervisors in the day-to-day construction process.

Detailed Duties & Responsibilities
Site Maintenance & Safety:
  • Maintain a pristine job site by consistently clearing debris, scrap materials, and potential hazards.
  • Perform rigorous housekeeping duties, including sweeping, shoveling, and waste removal to ensure a tidy and professional work environment.
  • Strictly adhere to all provincial and company safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks and maintain a zero-incident workplace.
Material Management:
  • Efficiently move, organize, and stage building materials and supplies to ensure the construction crew has what they need, exactly when they need it.
  • Assist with the unloading of deliveries and the distribution of inventory across various floors of the apartment complex.
Operational Support:
  • Provide hands-on assistance for diverse labour tasks as directed by Site Supervisors, including site setup, basic assembly, or manual excavation.
  • Remain flexible to take on other duties as assigned by the employer to meet project deadlines and evolving site needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Physical Fitness: Capability to perform heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, and work outdoors in all Winnipeg weather conditions.
  • Work Ethic: A proactive "self-starter" attitude with the ability to identify what needs to be done without constant supervision.
  • Communication: Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions and work effectively within a large team.
  • Transportation: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Assets
  • Valid certification and experience operating a Telehandler (Zoom Boom) and Forklift is considered a significant asset.
  • Previous experience on high-density or multi-family residential sites.
